Rinzen just put out his remix of deadmau5's Not Exactly.

It hit number one on Beatport.

But the chart isn't the story. The story is how he got there, and what it should teach you if you're trying to make it.

Quick context on where I'm sitting. I work at mau5trap, and a big part of my week is artists in my inbox. All day. Every kind of person you can picture.

Some show up entitled. Like the world owes them a release. Like signing them would be the favour.

And then there's Rinzen.

He's just different.

He didn't ask for anything. He gave.

He has management. He could have sat back and let them run point. Instead he was in every email thread himself. Answering. Suggesting. Making things happen. Hands-on building the whole campaign around the release with us, and he pretty much owned the social strategy and led it.

No complaining. No waiting around. Just showing up like a partner in his own success.

Here's the line I keep coming back to.

Rinzen created the spark. The team just fanned the fire.

And there was a real team behind it. Marketing, socials, the people up top, everyone pulled. But none of that catches if there's no spark to begin with. He brought the spark. Every single time.

That's the part most people get backwards. They wait for the label to light the fire, and then they'll show up. It works the other way around.

Now, you probably don't have a deadmau5 remix lined up. Doesn't matter. The muscle is the same at any size.

Be in your own threads. Don't outsource caring about your own release. Don't wait to be picked, and don't expect anyone, label or not, to come rescue you.

Show up like a collaborator, not someone waiting for the red carpet to roll out.

And timing matters too. Rinzen's road to this one wasn't short or easy. But when the moment came he was ready and already in motion, not scrambling to start.

Success leaves clues. Rinzen is the clearest one I've seen all year. Go study how he moves. Go study his socials. Then go be that version of you.
